Kari Pohar is a paranormal fiction author who grew up on her family’s ghost stories and later decided to live out her destiny by moving into a house with occasional ghost visitors of her own. While mostly harmless, these spirits crossed a line when they started hanging around her children as infants—an experience that still haunts her today.
She’s been married for twenty years, which suggests a surprising level of stability for someone so preoccupied with ghosts, vampires, and the undead. She submitted her first short story for publication on the morning her mother died, a fun fact that is not fun at all but does explain her fondness for dark humor and the paranormal. She draws inspiration from Edgar Allan Poe and O. Henry (minus the marrying-a-cousin part).
She has nine published short stories in a variety of anthologies and is the author of the vampire novel Chateau Merlot.
Her next novel, Cassandra Seer: Psychic on the Run, is scheduled for release in 2026.

Stephen was unaware of how valuable his blood was until Angelica Asta offered him a small fortune. In exchange, he must allow her to feed on him and live in the luxurious apartment complex, the Chateau Merlot. There, he discovers that there are some things that money can’t buy.
When he attracts the attention of a brutal and conniving vampire, Stephen is forced to decide what his blood and life is worth. And time is running out.
Because they are thirsty.
