H.M. Lawson is an award-winning writer and educator who values the art of expression, particularly through paint, music, and words. Lawson does her best writing in a room filled with books, second-hand ukuleles, and a cuckoo clock. She's married to a chef who disguises himself as an IT Director, and they have two funny, talented kids who serve as her inspiration.
In 2024, H.M. Lawson founded Wilson Lindberg Books, LLC, a self-publishing hybrid imprint that specializes in middle grade fiction, self-deprecating comedies, memoirs, adventure tales, and children's books. She divides her time between crafting stories and helping fellow authors pursue their dreams.
Lawson's debut novel, The Mystery in Mapleton, showcases her storytelling prowess.
Nick is absolutely convinced it's going to be the worst summer ever. The Thornton family vacation has been canceled, and now Nick's parents are sending him to live in the middle of nowhere with an uncle he hardly knows. No friends. Possibly no electricity. Definitely no video games. When Nick starts exploring the lake and woods around his uncle's cabin, he meets two kids from town. Together, they uncover a trail of clues about a mysterious bank robbery and a stolen invention, reminiscent of the thrilling tales in H.M. Lawson's middle grade fiction. They soon realize they're not the only ones looking for lost treasures. Will Nick and his friends dig deep enough to solve the mystery in time, or will they miss out on the adventure of a lifetime in The Mystery in Mapleton?
"My grandkids love this book. (And so do I.) It's well-written and fun to read with just the right amount of intrigue and mystery for the 8 and up age group. I often like to explore the books that my grandkids are reading and this one was just delightful!"

A good read for all ages! Well written with intriguing description. As our fourth grader read each page, he was curious at each moment what the lead character was going to do next!
